WWAY announces new prep basketball show hosted by John Rendleman and Brett Blizzard

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) - WWAY NewsChannel 3, THE station committed to covering local sports, announces the premier of "Full Court Press," a brand new show dedicated to prep basketball coverage.

"FCP" will be co-hosted by WWAY's John Rendleman and Brett Blizzard, UNCW's all-time scoring leader. He finished his career with 32 school records and shares five others. On February 2, 2005, Blizzard became one of only three Seahawk players ever to have his jersey retired. He most recently played with Vitrus Bologna, a member of the Italian A League.

"Having Brett Blizzard join the WWAY Sports Team is incredible for us," WWAY News Director Scott Pickey said. "To have someone co-host with his credentials and basketball knowledge is a huge coup for this station and will really take our high school basketball coverage to a level we've never been able to achieve before."

"Full Court Press" is the first time any local station has dedicated multiple resources to covering high school basketball. It will air during Friday's WWAY NewsChannel 3 at 11 p.m. beginning Friday December 3 and replaces "The 5th Quarter" as prep football season comes to a close.

Great choice, just as Nixon was. I think Blizzard's presence will also help revive seahawk support throughout the community. I look forward to watching it.

they are not sending Rendleman down the river.

The way others have been let go, it was certainly a concern.
