YMCA to head up Pender after school programs

Working parents in Pender County can now leave their kids in the hands of the YMCA. The Wilmington’s Family YMCA is now heading up Pender County's after school programs after coming in as the low bidder for the district. After school care will be held at four sites in the county: Malpass Corner Elementary, Burgaw Elementary, Cape Fear Elementary and Penderlea Elementary. The program plans to offer activities and learning opportunities for children. "Anything we can do to help the families in the community and help families stay at work to know that their children are being cared for in a quality program,” said Andrea Mohammad of the YMCA.

Other after school programs

Not only is the YMCA holding afterschool care so is Brigade Boys and Girls Club in Rocky Point! They are cheaper...40.00 a week! and only 10.00 registration! The staff is great and they are not as strict as the YMCA rules! Read the fine print. Registration, late fees (if it is one day late?) and so forth! They also have cheap summer care and field trips 3 days a week! I am a proud parent and i can say this is one of the best in Pender County!

What about the afterschool

What about the afterschool programs for the eastside of the county? There are parents on that side that can use a lower cost afterschool care as well.
