Zahra's biological mom back to Australia

READ MORE:

HICKORY, NC (AP) -- The biological mother of a North Carolina girl who was missing for more than a month says she hopes to take her daughter's body back to Australia for burial. WCNC-TV in Charlotte reported that Emily Dietrich headed back home to Australia on Sunday evening after coming to North Carolina for four days as officials searched for the body of 10-year-old Zahra Baker.

Officials said Friday that they had found her remains in Caldwell County. Dietrich thanked investigators for their efforts. She said she was glad she could visit the memorial in front of Adam and Elisa Baker's home in Hickory. The girl's father and stepmother had reported the girl missing Oct. 9.

No one has been charged her death. Elisa Baker is charged with obstruction of justice and Adam Baker was arrested on non-related charges.
