Southeastern North Carolina to see $24 million in federal money


Twenty-four million of our federal dollars will be coming back to southeastern North Carolina for waterway and beach projects. The most money, more than eleven million dollars, is for dredging the Cape Fear River. Dredging of the Carolina Beach, new Topsail and Lockwood Folly inlets is also funded. Plus, there is beach renourishment money for New Hanover County’s three beach towns. Congress has also included $93,000 to study the feasibility of a planned international port in Brunswick County.
