McIntyre views bin Laden death photos

WASHINGTON, DC (WWAY) — While the Obama administration has decided not to release photos of Osama bin Laden’s death to the public, some members of Congress are taking a look, including Rep. Mike McIntyre.

As a member of the House Committee on Armed Services, the Congressman went to the CIA today to see 15 photos from the raid in Pakistan that killed bin Laden and his burial at sea.

Many people question if indeed bin laden was killed and why the public can not see for themselves. The Congressman said no one should question if the terrorist leader is dead.

“I have no doubt that it was (bin Laden),” McIntyre said. “There were points of facial deliniation for comparison that you could look at to show the positive ID. I know that the CIA used facial identification software to make comparative pictures before and after. And then also, the DNA test results, of course, were better than 99.9 percent.”

McIntyre said he agrees with the decision not to release the photos, because of the potential damage they could create.

McIntyre also said the terror threat continues. He cited today’s suicide bombing in Pakistan as an example of why we need to remain vigilant.
