Adrian Point surrenders to face attempted murder charge


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man wanted along with two of his brothers for allegedly trying to kill a man last month turned himself in yesterday.

Adrian Point, 22, turned himself in at the front desk of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, according to NHSO spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer.

WPD wanted Point for the attempted murder of Edvis Galloway. Point is also charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, according to jail records. Point’s brother William, 19, is also in jail for the same charges, along with other unrelated charges. Their brother Antonio, 21, is also wanted for the crimes.

Investigators say a group of men approached Galloway, 24, March 12 as he headed into the Freedom House Mini Market near 10th and Chestnut streets. That’s when he was stabbed.

A friend drove Galloway to the fire station at 8th and Market streets, where firefighters performed first aid until an ambulance could take him to the hospital.

During a jailhouse interview the day after his arrest, William Point denied his involvement in the stabbing or ties to a gang. Adrian Point denied a request for an interview.
