HEMPSTEAD, NC (UNCW) — HEMPSTEAD, New York – Meredith Peacock led UNCW with eight kills and Sarah Kelly and Nicole Lott added seven apiece for UNCW, but the Seahawks dropped a 3-0 decision to homestanding Hofstra on Friday in volleyball action at the Mack Center.

The Pride (20-3, 8-1 CAA) finished off a season sweep of the Seahawks to remain at the top of the Colonial Athletic Association standings. The Seahawks fell to 15-8 overall and 5-4 in the league.

Offensively the Pride combined to hit .302 on the night as Veronika Kostova held match-high honors with 17 kills while Kelsie Wills had 15 and Emily Burke added 11. Wills completed a double-double with 11 digs.

For Kelly, her seven kills were a season-high and she finished hitting .333 for the match in 12 attacks. Peacock, Kelly and Morgan Kline had three blocks apiece for UNCW, who finished with a 6-5 lead in blocks.

The beneficiary of the Hofstra offense was setter Hannah Klemm, who handed out 45 assists. Corrina Delgadillo collected a match-high 14 digs.

Up next: The Seahawks head to Boston for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday against Northeastern.

Notes: Meredith Peacock moved into a tie for seventh with 328 career blocks … Kelly’s previous high was five kills, set last outing against Towson … Kelly is hitting .395 over her last four matches (19-4-38) … UNCW now trails the all-time series with Hofstra, 22-4.
