WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — This weekend you have a chance to support the performing arts while watching some of the Cape Fear’s most talented children and adults perform.
The Thalian Association is putting on ‘It Takes Two: Take Two’ in Wilmington. Performers will be singing duets, and ensemble pieces from some of your favorite movies. Child and adult performers paired up to learn from each other, and raise money for the Thalian Association’s Children’s Theater.
“I think it’s always important to learn from your elders and see how you can improve. I think just learn everything you can because if you try to keep yourself teachable, it’s better and it keeps you humble in the process as well,” said Mariah Sutton, who will be singing ‘Wind Beneath My Wings.’
WWAY’s Makenzi Henderson is honored to be one of the adult performers, and will be singing ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow.’ Performances are at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Hannah Block Community Arts Center. You’ll want to be there an hour early at 7 p.m. for a dessert reception though. Tickets are $18.
