BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A wanted validated gang member in Wilmington has been arrested in Brunswick County, according to warrants.
Warrants show Deshaun Montell Clarida, 19, was booked Tuesday afternoon in the Brunswick County jail. His charges include possession of a firearm by a felon, probation violation and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.
According to warrants, Clarida removed the monitoring device on Monday, and while an officer with the Navassa Police Department was conducting a traffic stop on Tuesday, Clarida gave the officer a different name.
Clarida was wanted by WPD back in March in connection with a high-speed chase and shooting investigation. According to warrants, he was convicted in that investigation in September and sentenced to probation.
