WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Christmas Day is full of special programming on WWAY and ABC.

It starts first thing in the morning, as WWAY takes a look back at what happened in the Cape Fear area in 2014. WWAY’s Year in Review starts at 6 a.m. And don’t worry if you’re opening presents with the kids then. The special will re-air at 7 p.m. on our sister station RTV 3-3.

At 10 a.m. put a little magic in your holiday with the “Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration.” The 31st annual Christmas day telecast gets a makeover from the hit movie “Frozen,” as Elsa, Anna and Olaf join Mickey, Minnie and, of course, Santa Claus for a heart-warming Christmas celebration from Walt Disney World, Disneyland and other destinations.

Basketball takes over at 2 p.m. with “NBA Countdown.” At 2:30, in a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder look to make a statement to the defending champion San Antonio Spurs. Then at 5, Lebron James heads to his old home for the holiday, as he takes his Cleveland Cavaliers back to Miami to face the Heat.

Cap your holiday off with two versions of a classic Christmas tale. At 8 p.m., the animated version of “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is followed at 8:30 by the live action movie starring Jim Carey.

Then don’t forget to tune in for WWAY NewsChannel 3 at 11 p.m.
