NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (StarNewsOnline) — New Hanover County formally presented its proposed $302 million budget Monday which includes a two-cent property tax increase.
The county manager said the county needs the two-cent increase for debt payments, park improvements, and new Cape Fear Community College facilities.
At least two commissioners, Woody White and Skip Watkins, said they plan to vote against the budget during the vote on June 22. You have until then to comment.
