WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Williston school is celebrating it’s 100th birthday this year. Today alumni from all across the country came back to celebrate their school and reminisce about the good times they had there.
Williston was once the school for African-American students when Wilmington was segregated.
Organizers say today was all about celebrating the time they spent at Williston and connecting with classmates. After the mixer on the school’s lawn, a banquet will be held in the evening. Organizers said they are expecting over 400 people to attend including the mayor.
