Wrightsville Beach getting $300k for improved playground at park

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A new, accessible playground at Wrightsville Beach Park in Wrightsville Beach will be built in the coming year, courtesty of a 300 thousand dollar grant from Trillium Health Resources.  Trillium officials announced that the Town received $300,000 after applying for the agency’s Play Together Construction Grant for Accessible Playgrounds.

Trillium project manager Amy Corbitt says Wrightsville Beach is one of 25 communities receiving playground grants from Trillium, a local government agency that manages mental health, substance use and intellectual/developmental disability services in a 24-country area in eastern N.C.  Corbitt say reinvestment dollars were allocated to help communities across Trillium’s service area develop accessible playgrounds that allow people of all abilities to come together.
