This Saturday, volunteers were joined by members and the youth group of the Council Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church who passed out gift bags.

“It’s a joy because they want to give back because Christmas is not only just about receiving gifts but also sharing them with others, ” Pastor Darryl Howard, Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church, said.

The gift bags included fruit, toiletries items, socks, and things they can use from day to day.

Howard says giving them stuff like blankets, hats, and gloves is very important this time of the year as we head into winter time.

The group also sang Christmas songs to celebrate the meaning of the day.

Non-profit organization  Young Bosses United (YBU) were also there volunteering their time. YBU is a small group of entrepreneurs under the age 30.
