WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 2016 Wilmington Wine and Chocolate Festival is officially underway.
Tonight at the Grand Tasting kickoff, hundreds of people packed the Coastline Convention Center to sample some of the best foods/desserts, wines, and crafts that North Carolina has to offer.
And for the vendors, it’s also a fun way to meet those who share their love of the grape.
“It really promotes the industry,” Terry Mathieu of Duplin Winery said. “The industry is strong in NC and it’s nice because we talk to one another, we enjoy each other’s company and when we have time off we go visit other wineries.”
Money raised at the event will benefit the New Hanover County Senior Resource Center.
The festival runs all weekend long. Saturday from 11am to 6pm and Sunday from noon until four. Tickets are 15 dollars at the door.
