911 callers describe house fire that killed toddler


BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — As investigators work to figure out what caused a house fire, we’re learning more about the toddler who died from the incident.

Brunswick County Coroner Greg White said Violet Rose Emmino died in the incident on Sandy Bluff Drive. When fire crews arrived, Brunswick County Fire Marshal Scott Garner said the mobile home was engulfed in flames.

White said the toddler was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

a 911 caller said she got a call from someone in the house.

“I think the house is on fire, please get there as soon as possible,” said the caller. “I was on the phone with the babysitter in the house. I hear him screaming that there’s fire.”

There’s no word on the cause or any other injuries in the blaze.

Friends of the family who lived in the house started a Go Fund Me page for the family. According to the page Violet is the niece of the homeowners.
