Hoggard High celebrates seniors

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Graduation season for high schoolers is right around the corner, and Hoggard students got to make a practice run for the ceremonies, today.

The school held their senior awards ceremony to recognize their outstanding students. Those seniors were awarded more than $5 million in scholarship money. At the ceremony, seniors were surprised with 20 different school awards. Principal Steven Sullivan said he hopes the program inspires the younger students to work hard.

“We thought it would be a great idea to be able to march them through the school and let their peers at the school, the 9th, 10th and 11th graders, see them and hopefully get excited about when they’re going to graduate,”Sullivan said.
