WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — More than 80,000 feet of new retail space could soon be coming to the Market Street corridor, according to plans submitted to the city late last month.
Still in the review stage, the plans call for a 62,000-square-foot building that would be constructed next to a 20,000-foot building on a 7.46-acre site near the intersection of Lennon and Gingerwood drives. For comparison, the Harris Teeter grocery store at Long Leaf Mall is 53,000 square feet.
Beyond the word “retail,” the planning documents offer no hint as to what outlet could be moving to the location, which is near Costco. S&H Centre Development is heading up the project. The developers did not respond to messages seeking comment.
