COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – A Superior Court judge sentenced a Chadbourn woman to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of a Columbus County woman in November 2010.
A Columbus County jury convicted 33-year-old Tiffany Faulk of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the killing of Bonnie Fowler at Berry Court Apartments in Chadbourn more than five years ago.
Superior Court Judge Douglas Sasser sentenced Tiffany Faulk to life without the possibility of parole in the N.C. Department of Corrections.
The trial began Monday, July 25th, and ended Thursday, August 4th, after less than three hours of jury deliberations.
Officers with the Chadbourn Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and Maryland State Police investigated the case. Each of those three agencies was represented during the trial.
“We’re thankful for the hard work and dedication of our law enforcement team,” said Heath Nance, who prosecuted the case with fellow Assistant District Attorney Chris Gentry. “Without them, we wouldn’t have been able to successfully prosecute the case and get justice for the victim and her family.”
Nance also thanked the jury for its “thoughtful deliberations.”
“We thank the jury for their service,” he said. “We recognize the seriousness of this case.”
