Brunswick County Schools add Naloxone to emergency kits

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Board of Education has approved a measure that permits Naloxone in school emergency kits.

A Brunswick County Schools spokeswoman said this measure permits the school system to work with the Health Department to place Naloxone in school emergency kits at no charge to the school system.

The BCS spokeswoman added they have never had any reason to need the drug, which is used to reverse the effects on an opioid overdose, but that schools are simply adding another tool to their emergency kits.
