WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Two million cans of Diet Pepsi in North Carolina will look familiar to one Wilmington artist.
Sarah Sheffield, who opened a gallery in the Brooklyn Arts District recently, says Pepsi decided to use her featured poster artwork to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival, which takes place in Cary.
“I was very excited,” Sheffield said in a news release. “I’ve already found cases of the cans in local Wilmington stores.”
The cans are based on a graphic adaptation of Sheffield’s painting, which features Cary’s official Town Crier and his wife at Lazy Daze on Cary Town Hall Campus, the location of this year’s two day festival.
The festival is August 27-28 in downtown Cary.
