The Wilmington Family YMCA says a Wilmington tradition will continue this year at Legion Stadium Pool. Dogs of all sizes, ages, and swimming ability get the chance to cool down and take a dip in the pool during the Pooch Plunge.

Pooch Plunge will take place at Legion Stadium Pool, 2131 Carolina Beach Road, for six days following the end of the regular pool season. The cost is $5 per dog per day.

The Pooch Plunge will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6 through Friday, September 9. On Saturday, September 10 it will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, September it will be from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All dogs must be current on vaccinations, owners are  responsible for the behavior of their dog, and no aggressive dogs are allowed.

Per strict regulations from the health department, owners are not allowed to be in the water with their pets.

YMCA Lifeguards and attendants will be on duty for this event.
