WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One of four men shot in broad daylight last weekend has died.
Wilmington Police spokeswoman Linda Rawley says the shooting Sept. 3 in Creekwood is now a murder investigation after Darryl Freeman died from his injuries this morning. Rawley said Freeman died around 10 a.m.
Freeman was one of four men shot in the 600 and 700 block of N. 30th Street a week ago in the middle of the afternoon. The other three were treated and released from the hospital, but Freeman was listed in critical condition when police released the names of the victims earlier this week.
Police said this week witnesses were not cooperating with the investigation.
