Ron Rivera chimes in on police shooting and protests in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — Carolina Panthers head football coach Ron Rivera addressed the recent shootings and police protests in Charlotte on Thursday afternoon. “People wanted to have a peaceful protest,” Rivera said. “I think last night some agitators who had their own agenda took over and created a situation that’s wasn’t Charlotte. That’s tough because I know Charlotte is better than that. I mean I have seen Charlotte’s true character first hand, when Cam rolled his car and had his accident, my house burned down, when my brother passed the way the community gave us support, showed us love, I mean that’s Charlotte and the couple nights hasn’t been.

Despite all the protests in Charlotte this week the Carolina Panthers game in Charlotte on Sunday will go on as scheduled against the Minnesota Vikings.
