WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – October is the month for all things scary, but in Downtown Wilmington you can get the jeebies all year long.
Open for just over a year, the Museum of the Bizarre features rare, one of a kind items, you won’t see anywhere else.
Tattoo artist, Justin LaNasa, started his collection 20 years ago with a pickled pig fetus. Fast forward to 2016, LaNasa now has thousands of items. He didn’t put them on display, however, until he got married.
“She said it would be better if it was on display,” LaNasa said. “And something to the effect of ‘you get it out, or I leave’ or something like that.”
Now you can see his collection for yourself on the corner of Orange and Water Streets in Wilmington.
Inside you’ll see movie props from dozens of movies, including The Conjuring and The Exorcist.
You’ll find fun displays, like a two headed calf, the Fort Fisher Mermaid and Big Foot’s foot print!
Some of the creepy items include Jeffrey Dahmer’s knives, a possessed clown and real shrunken heads.
There’s even something for you history lovers: presidential and civil warm memorabilia.
For just $3 a person, it’s a great way to get into the Halloween spirit.
