WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Coastal Christian and Carmel Christian were scoreless at the half in the 2-A NCISAA state playoff game. Carmel scored early in the second half, but the Cougars couldn’t hold on. Coastal Christian’s Tommy Murphy scored on a header late in the second half to send the game to overtime. Walker Henderson scored in overtime to give the Centurions a 2-1 victory. “I would have to say this is the biggest win in school history,” Coastal Christian head coach Mike Scheffel told WWAY. “We are headed to the state championship game for the first time in school history and that was a great way to do it.”

Coastal Christian will play Asheville Christian on Saturday in the state title game for 2-A NCISAA.
