Weekend wrap; WCA claims state titles in volleyball and soccer


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Christian Academy volleyball team defeated Greenville Christian Academy 25-10, 25-15, 25-6 on Saturday to claim their fourth consecutive NCCSA 2-A state volleyball title. The Patriots finish the season with a 29-4 record.

The Wilmington Christian Academy boys soccer team won the NCCSA 2-A state title on Saturday in a penalty kick shootout against Alamance Christian. The game was tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime.

The Coastal Christian boys soccer team came up short in the NCISAA 2-A state championship game on Saturday. Asheville Christian edged Coastal Christian 3-2 in overtime.

St. David’s School beat Cape Fear Academy on Saturday in the NCISAA 2-A girls tennis state championship match 5-2. The Hurricanes finish the season with an 11-2 record.
