Easy win for the Wolfpack and Whiteville’s Shaun Kirk in Raleigh


RALEIGH, NC (GOPACK.COM) — The NC State men’s basketball team hit triple digits as it rolled to a 100-66 win over Lynn University in the exhibition opener. Five players scored double digits and 14 players earned time on the floor.

Dennis Smith, Jr., led the way for the Pack with 22 points, six assists and five rebounds. Maverick Rowan added 17 points and five rebounds, while Abdul-Malik Abu posted a double-double with 10 points and a team high 15 rebounds.
The Wolfpack dominated down low, out rebounding Lynn 56-37 and earning a 54-18 advantage in points in the paint.

After a close opening stretch of the game, NC State pulled away with a 17-4 run over the final 6:39 of the first half to enter halftime up 44-30.

The Pack dominated the second half, outscoring Lynn by 20 points over the final 20 minutes, and posted a lead as large as 46 points.
