ROSE HILL, NC (WWAY) – North Carolina’s largest winery is right in our own backyard.
“We’re up to about 450,000 cases [a year], to where we run two bottling lines here and we have a bottling line in North Myrtle Beach,” said Jonathan Fussell, Duplin Winery’s president.
Started back in the 1970’s, the winery began in a small building in Rose Hill.
Fast forward 40 years, despite several setbacks, the winery has not only outgrown its original building, but Rose Hill.
“A winery can’t just be a winery,” Fussell said. “It has to be an entertainment destination.”
You can now tour Duplin Winery’s original Rose Hill location and second location in North Myrtle Beach.
From the vine to the bottle, both tours give you a behind that scenes look at how the family makes its famous muscadine wine.
While you’re there, enjoy a wine tasting, have dinner and see a show.
You can even get married on Duplin Winery’s Vineyard.
