WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Master Gardener Joyce Causey says all poinsettias need to stay alive for years is a little TLC and some simple gardening tips.
To keep your plants looking their best throughout the holidays and beyond she recommends finding a spot in your home away from cold drafts or hot vents. You should also make sure to place them in a place where they will get indirect sunlight.
As for water, Causey says, “just water when the soil feels dry and be careful not to over water.” She also advises to not fertilize when they are in bloom.
Cuasey is hosting a seminar on care of the holiday favorite Tuesday at the Hampstead Public Library from 11 a.m. until noon.
