Pender County teens arrested for stealing cars, weapons

SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) – Five Pender County teenagers face several charges for crimes that took place during one week in November.

The Surf City Police Department responded to several vehicle break-ins, larcenies, stolen cars and a burglary between November 6 and 11.

Detectives arrested Matthew Thomas, 16, of Surf City, Bryce Teachey, 17, of Hampstead and John Robert Calloway, 19 of Hampstead.

Two 15-year-old males were also arrested and referred to the Pender County Juvenile Intake Counselor.

Thomas faces 11 counts of felony Breaking/Entering Motor Vehicle, 2 counts of Felony Larceny of Motor Vehicle, 2 counts of Felony Breaking/Entering Residence, 1 count of Felony Larceny after Breaking/Entering,  1 count of Felony First Degree Burglary and 3 counts Larceny, 2 counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, 1 count of Felony Larceny of Firearm, 1 count of Felony Possession of Stolen Firearm, 1 count of Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia.   His bond is set at $270,000.



Calloway is charged with 1 count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. His bond is set at $1,200.

Teachey is charged with 1 count of Felony Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle, 1 count of Felony Possession of Stolen Firearm, 1 count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. His bond is set at $15,000.
