WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Southeastern North Carolina’s week-long Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration wraps up Monday with the downtown parade.
The parade begins Monday at 11 a.m. at Cape Fear Community College’s Schwartz Center. It will travel south down N. 3rd Street, then turn left on Princess Street, then north on N. 4th Street to Brunswick Street.
Beginning at 9 a.m., all traffic coming downtown from the east or south will have to use Market or Wooster streets to 3rd Street. N. 3rd Street will be closed at 9 a.m. Downtown traffic will have to use Front Street or 5th Avenue.
Organizers say the parade should end at about 3 p.m.
