WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Don’t let the name deceive you. You won’t find any old relics at the Children’s Museum of Wilmington.
Instead, you’ll find hands on, tiny exhibits, just for kids.
“The Children’s Museum gives an opportunity for families to explore and learn together,” said Jim Karl, the museum’s executive director.
Inside you’ll find a tiny grocery story, little kitchen, a space station, television studio and pirate ship.
“You know, a lot of kids have short attention spans, and they go off and try the next thing,” said Karl. “So it’s colorful, it’s bright and it’s interactive.”
The creativity, however, doesn’t stop there.
From cooking to art, the museum also offers several hands-on classes.
