WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On March 2, the Cape Fear Chapter of the American Red Cross will host an Open House for interested potential volunteers.
The event will take place at Brunswick Forest Community Commons at 1007 Evangeline Drive in Leland from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
According to a news release, Red Cross volunteers help families in need of lifesaving support and those affected by disasters.
The release states that the organization is especially in need of volunteers that can provide temporary shelter, financial assistance, and/or health services to community members affected by house fires.
Other positions include helping military families and veterans and assisting donors at local blood drives.
The release states that volunteers make up 90 percent of the Red Cross workforce. Volunteers are able to set flexible schedules and choose their area of interest.
