WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s been an interesting year for coaching changes in high school football in the Cape Fear region.
It all started a few weeks ago when Joey Price decided to step down as the head coach at traditional powerhouse Wallace-Rose Hill.
If the information that we’ve been told turns out to be true, Kevin Motsinger‘s name will be submitted to the Duplin County School Board Tuesday to replace Price.
Motsinger resigned as New Hanover’s head football coach in 2015 after nine seasons with the Wildcats. He also coached at James Kenan High School in Duplin County.
Most recently, Motsinger was the analyst on WWAY’s 5th Quarter this past fall.
WWAY spoke with Coach Motsinger at length today, but he was not able to confirm anything about the Wallace-Rose Hill position.
Since leaving Wallace-Rose Hill, Price has accepted a job in South Carolina.
