FAYETTEVILLE, NC (AP) — A former youth basketball coach and Cumberland County school employee has been charged with 105 more sex crimes.
Fayetteville Police Sgt. Shawn Strepay said in a news release that 50-year-old Rodney Scott was charged after an eighth person came forward.
Scott was charged Tuesday night with 21 counts of statutory sex offense, 21 counts of crimes against nature, 21 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, 21 counts of child abuse sex act and 21 other sex offenses alleged to have happened in 2012.
Bail on the latest charges is nearly $3.7 million. Total bail on 180 charges now totals more than $21 million.
Police say the alleged sex offenses occurred over at least a 13-year period.
It wasn’t known if he has a lawyer on the latest charges.
