WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The final touches are being put on Friday’s dance routine!
Wednesday night we caught up with the dance team of G.i.R.L at the Hannah Block USO Community Arts Center in Wilmington. The girls are super excited to be performing just before tip-off of the NBA game in Charlotte on Friday.
Gifted in Rhythm and Life (G.i.R.L) is a non-profit organization that provides dance instruction, community service, mentoring, and physical wellness to youth girls in the Cape Fear. Their dance team is headed to perform at the Charlotte Hornets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game on Friday, March 24th. They’ve been holding fundraisers that include car washes, bake sales, and raffles tickets to help pay for the trip.
“I can’t believe it finally happened,” founder Cassandra McNeil said. “And it came from submitting about the non-profit, the dance program, past videos of past performances, what we’re doing now, they needed to see a complete bio, because so many other people are vying for spot to dance at a Hornets game.”
We’ll keep you posted on their performance and if you’d like to know more about the organization, click here.
