WFD responds to gas leak at brewery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Fire Department crews responded to a natural gas leak at Wrightsville Beach Brewery.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Sammy Flowers, it happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Fire crews shut off the gas to the building and monitored the area for safety.

Greenville Avenue was blocked at Oleander Drive and Bagley Avenue for an hour. Fire crews left the scene around 1:40 p.m. and the road has reopened.  The brewery has also reopened.

No injuries were reported.
