Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — A report by CastLight Health named Wilmington as the top city in the nation for opioid abuse. Since then, city and state leaders have been looking for ways to address the crisis.
Tonight, South East Area Health Education Center, or SEAHEC is holding a free panel discussion to talk about the problem and what solutions are out there to help combat the problem.
Deputy Chief Mitch Cunningham, Mayor Bill Saffo, New Hanover County Sheriff Ed McMahon, and the chief physician executive Dr. Philip Brown from NHRMC and community member Mark Allen.
The event is from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Kenan Auditorium.
It’s free, but SEAHEC says registration is preferred, but not required.
