LELAND, NC (WWAY) — “No Parking” signs have gone up in Leland neighborhoods, but not in all of them. That will soon change, according to the town manager.

We recently told you about how the the town is raising the profile of its ban against street parking without a permit. Town Manager David Hollis says it’s been the policy for years but they have just been able to pay for “No Parking” signs this year, but some residents have noticed certain neighborhoods don’t have the signs.

Right now, you won’t find them in Magnolia Greens or Brunswick Forest.

Hollis says the signs will be going up everywhere. He says crews simply have not gotten to all the neighborhoods yet.

The Town Council meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Leland Town Hall Council Chambers.

Ridiculous waste of money and a bad decision. If the problem is that some streets are too narrow to allow on street parking, then ban the parking there. To ban parking on all streets, and then let you park there with a permit is nonsensical. Either it is safe to park on the street or it isn’t. Having a sign on each street is also ridiculous. A sign at the entrance to each neighborhood is quite sufficient.

You Lelandites really need to be super-proactive here and put a dead stop to this ridiculous nonsense! Magnolia Greens is a really nice development and the citizens already know the ridiculous “parking regulations” Leland has enacted. The Town Council doesn’t need to be trashing up YOUR neighborhood with a bunch of ugly and unnecessary signage and WASTING your tax money doing it!
Go to your town council meetings, stand up and tell them “Hell NO!” The very next thing you do is get out and vote these nuisance ridden Clowns out of office as soon as the next election! They’re beginning to give stupid people a bad reputation!

This is awful, unnecessary, and ugly; another waste of time and money by our government.
