Her goal is to get people to start talking about drug issues by using her own personal story.

She wrote the book to share her message, especially here in New Hanover County, which is number one in the nation for opioid abuse.

Henry wants to get the message across to children at a young age, specifically elementary and middle schoolers.

A quote she likes to share is “its not what you do for your children but what you’ve taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful. I believe that one with all my heart and that is probably the heart of this message,” says Henry.

Henry wrote this book under a pen name to protect her family’s identity.

Several mothers attended today’s reading to discuss the current drug problem the community is facing.
