WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It is finally here, graduation day for the seahawks! Well at least some of them, the Cameron School of Business kicked off the first of four ceremonies Friday afternoon.
The ceremony was held in the Trask Coliseum. Hundreds of people filled the room as each student’s name was called. This years graduation class is the largest to date.
This year there is more than 2,200 undergraduates, 400 graduate students and 15 doctoral students graduating this weekend.
Roslyn Husney’s grandson Matthew was among those graduating today. Husney came from Charlotte to support him in this next step in life.
“Our first grandchild graduating. It’s quite an accomplishment. We’re so proud,” Husney said.
Husney’s grandson is heading to the New York to work for IBM following graduation.
Another ceremony held Friday was the Watson College of Education and the College of Health and Human Services, it began at 5-30.
The last two graduation ceremonies are set for tomorrow morning and afternoon.
