WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A kitten thrown off a North Carolina bridge has a new home thanks to some Department of Transportation workers.

Someone threw the cat off the Old Manns Harbor Bridge earlier this week. The NCDOT posted on its Facebook page that three of its underwater inspectors, Reece Newman, Ben Presgrave and Billy Cox, rescued the kitten. Newman and his family have adopted the kitten that is now named Bridger Catfish Newman.

The DOT says Bridger got a quick check-up at the vet, and it is healthy.
