WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — North Carolina’s top educator will visit a pair of schools in Wilmington this week.
According to a New Hanover County Schools news release, State Superintendent Mark Johnson will visit The International School at Gregory and Douglass Academy Friday morning.
The school district says Johnson is visiting Gregory, because he has expressed interest in learning more about the school’s Immersion Program. The release says Johnson’s itinerary includes touring the school, visiting classrooms, speaking with staff and talking with reporters.
Johnson and his staff will then visit Douglass, a charter school, later Friday morning.
Johnson, a Republican, was elected to office last fall.
