WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A local comedian and friend of an Oak Island family who lost their home and two family members in a fire is hosting a comedy showcase to raise money for the family.
The Mylod family lost their rental home of 20 years in a house fire on August 24. Three people made it out of the home, but Edward Michael Mylod, 56, and his son Casey Mylod, 16, were killed.
Cameron Smith is a friend of the Mylod family, and wants to raise money for their GoFundMe page. The comedy showcase at Dead Crow Comedy will feature Smith as well as six other comedians and improv performances. There will be a $10 donation at the door, 100% of which will go to the Mylod family.
The event will start on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
