“Feels pretty good but we’re no where where we want to be.” Knights Head Coach Kris Williams said.

No there aren’t any trophies given out after three weeks. But following a season where the Knights only won two games, starting a new year under a new coach while matching the win total is a good feeling.

“I’m glad,” Senior Fullback BJ Drake said. “I’m happy for our 2-0. It’s pretty good and I think we’re going to do well for the season.”

BJ Drake and the offense outscored Midway 14-0 following a 6-6 start to the game before the rain delay. Just as notable was the shutout the defense put on in the final three quarters of play. This win was a team win.

“It’s been a real equal effort,” Coach Williams said. “We’ve got a lot of guys that play both ways so I think that helps.Everybody is all in together.”

Even though this is a new team, a 2-0 start is the exact position they were in last year. Those were the last two wins the Knights got. To move on from last year, they need to stay all in and work hard.

“Just keep working hard and doing the things we’re doing now,” Senior Defensive End Jonathon Robinson said. “Nothing should change because we’re on a good start. There’s nothing else we should do. Just keep working hard and putting time in on the field and the weight room.”

Congratulations to the West Bladen Knights!
