Special Olympics 2017 Fall Games brings fun for all

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Legion Stadium is home to all kinds of sporting events. Today, they upped the level of awesomeness. Hundreds of people hit the field at the Wilmington landmark for the Special Olympics Fall Games & Sports Expo.

The event started at 10 with singing the national anthem. The athletes then went to different events throughout the field like soccer, bocce ball, kick ball and many other games. For many athletes at the fall games, this is not the their first time and the environment and the people have them coming back for more. But all they want to do is have fun.
