WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Lots of people were out and about Thursday preparing for an annual tradition in the Cape Fear.
The Cape Fear Fair & Expo begins Friday at the ILM airport fairgrounds.
The fair includes livestock, agricultural shows, games and food.
There are also 5 new rides at this year’s fair. Attractions includes a comedy hypnotist, a pig derby, circus performances.
Fair second VP Skip Watkins says the fair is a family event and there will be sheriff’s deputies on hand to ensure safety.
“Bring your children, bring your grand mama and grand daddy, Monday through Thursday people who just want to walk around can get in for $5. Now we don’t do it on weekends, but Monday through Thursday if somebody just want to walk around, 5 bucks. Come and enjoy all the smells, sights and sounds of the fair.”
Tonight before midnight is the last chance to buy advanced tickets for the fair.
The fair will last for 10 days and ends on November 5.
