LELAND, NC (Press Release) — Cucalorus Film Festival and Leland Cultural Arts Center, two growing forces in the art world, are joining together for the first time this year with a pre-festival film screening event on November 3.
Internationally renowned and locally famous film festival Cucalorus will travel over the bridge from its traditional venue lineup in Downtown Wilmington to offer a sneak preview of the festival showings at the Leland Cultural Arts Center on Friday, November 3 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. This event is free to the public and will feature a curated selection of short films, chosen specifically for this unprecedented event. The Leland Cultural Arts Center offers a wide variety of art instruction, multi-use event spaces, a public art gallery, and the artisan gift shop Crafted. It is located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way in Leland.
Film festivities of a different sort will continue the following evening at the final showing in Leland’s Movies in the Park series. The Town of Leland has partnered with Cucalorus to bring their outdoor screen, equipment and concessions to Leland Municipal Park for free kid-friendly entertainment under the stars throughout the fall. Families are invited to bring blankets and lawnchairs to the park on Saturday, November 4 at sundown to enjoy a showing of The Smurfs: Lost Village. Pets, alcohol and smoking are prohibited. Concessions will be available for purchase. Leland Municipal Park is located at 102 Town Hall Drive, Leland.
