WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — There’s no better way to cap off your Thanksgiving weekend than with a visit to an annual tradition at Wrightsville Beach.

The 34th Annual Flotilla weekend is happening November 24th and 25th with events for the whole family.

On Friday night, enjoy the tree lighting at Wrightsville Beach Park. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and there’s potential for a visit from Santa.

Then, head to Blockade Runner Beach Resort for the launch party. The party starts at 7 p.m. and is $35 per person. There will be a silent auction, live music, food and drinks. You can buy Tickets here.

‍On Saturday, head to Festival in the Park. The family friendly event is one of the highlights of the flotilla weekend. It’s from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Wrightsville Beach Park. This year’s festival will include a large play area for children including several inflatable slides and bounce houses, a coloring contest, the always popular Arab Choo Choo, festival food, and more.

In addition to the children’s area, the Festival in the Park also includes a large selection of arts and crafts booths displayed by local merchants and artisans, and an antique car show.

The whole weekend wraps up with the boat parade and fireworks on Saturday night. It begins at 6 p.m. There is no official location to watch the parade, but you can park in the Wrightsville Beach park parking lot and walk to any point along the parade route, including the Banks Channel Bridge, the two South Harbor Island mini-parks, or the west side of Waynick Blvd. Fireworks will follow the parade.
